My daddy is my mommy

I have been giggling at the news tonight. This is the story:

" Thomas Beatie, who was born a woman but lives as a man after hormone treatment, has given birth to a baby girl.

Beatie, 34, from Oregon in the US, legally became a man ten years ago and had his breasts surgically removed, but kept his female reproductive organs.

The child was conceived through artificial insemination using donor sperm and Beatie's own eggs.
Beatie told People magazine: "The only thing different about me is that I can't breastfeed my baby.

"But a lot of mothers don't."

He told the magazine the child was not delivered by Caesarean, but gave no other details about the birth.

Beatie stopped taking hormone injections after deciding to have a child two years ago.

He said he took the decision because his wife of five years Nancy, 46, was unable to conceive because of a hysterectomy.

She recently told US chat show host Oprah Winfrey their parental roles would be traditional.
"He's going to be the father and I'm going to be the mother." "

He wasn't happy as a woman so had a sex change but then wants a baby. Does that sound like wanting the best of both worlds?? I don’t want to be a woman, but I want to have a baby.

And that poor child. I’ve got a mommy and a daddy. But my daddy is really my mommy cause I grew in his tummy. So I really have two mommies, but one of my mommies, my birth mommy is my daddy.

Reminds me of the song “I am my own grandpa”.

I couldn't resist the giggle at this one. I must admit I really enjoy the antics that human beings get up to

Yes Gezunda,
I have been following that one as well.

Certainly in the 'wacky' category

My wacky brain went into this is my daddy, no, my mommy, no both LOL. Couldn't resist writing this one.

Why... just because.

I wonder what they think of us... you know... the little green men in their ufo's?

I suppose it really is a sign of the times. Perhaps no different than a child having two daddies, if a gay couple have a child or two mommies. Maybe in today's world it really will be viewed as normal. And I always reckon that the norm of Mum and Dad parents can sometimes not be very good parents at all, so whose to say this child won't grow up perfectly normally and well adjusted? But I agree, it does sound quite confusing. LOL

Personally, Roses, I reckon the little green men from outer space think we are totally nutz.

I agree with you totally Kazza. It does depend on the parents. I was just tickled by the interesting places my brain went with the whole concept :-)

I wonder why daddy didnt have the full sex change operation. But then again, it does sound painful. But then again, probably not as painful as childbirth.

I still reckon Kahless he wanted the best of both worlds. Also the possibility of making lots and lots of money by being a man and having a baby. That's always a good motivator.

Damn why didn't mrs K and I think of that one!

Just slow Kahless, just slow hehehehe. Is it too late?? Kahless you could become the man, and have a baby and be rich selling your story.

Kahless said...

Good Morning Rosymosie!

No I dont want human kids. I am happy with my surrogate kids of my doggies.

Rosymosie said...

I have a friend who reckons that children are substitutes for pets :-) I guess you agree with her.

Kahless said...

Was that a Freudian slip???

Do you not mean the other way round
lol!

Rosymosie said...

No,just double checked that I had written it right.

It is early in the a.m.

she doesn't want kids either and loves her dog. Reckons that people who have kids are just substituting human kids for fur kids :-)

Kahless said...

To me it reads that people have children as pets????

rather than pets as sustitute children...

rosymosie, its 7.45am in Perth - I am usually at work by that time here!

Rosymosie said...

It goes with the saying that gay couples, particularly male, have pets instead of kids. My friend was just changing that statement around.

It is just after 745 now and I don't have to leave until about 810. I live close to work so doesn't take me long to get there. I'm not even dressed yet.

I have a feeling that you will have a really good day at work today.

Hope that transpires!

Rosymosie said...

I sure hope so Kahless. But that one's a bit iffy in my world right now. Might tell you about it all when we meet. gotta go. Catcha later.

Kahless said...

So did you have a good day?

Rosymosie said...

Hey Kahless, In the general scheme of things it could have been a lot worse. but certainly not a great day, I'm afraid.

I am sorry Madeliene.

Hey I got nowt sleep last night so i took this afternoon off work as holiday. I have just woke up and you know what? You were in my dream. You were quite hyperactive and you had an austrian accent??!!?? Ken was there too. He never said anything though, just wandered round my garden.

Rosymosie said...

That sounds like Ken, saying nothing and wandering around the garden LOL Me I don't think I've got an Austrian accent thought. Hyperactive, possible on occasions, when I get excited.

Sorry you couldn't sleep. I'm awake at the crack of dawn this a.m. Gotta meeting this p.m. hopefully a very positive meeting, but going to be hard work.

Cheers mate.

BTW I've just had contact with another blogger who lives in Norfolk and we are going to meet up while I'm over there. Was hoping to catch up with him, and now I will. Kewl hey?

Hi Gez, now that we are back in touch I thought I'd pay a visit. This is my 'professional' blog for my work as a heritage interpreter, in case you wonder about its 'seriousness'. However, worry not, I'm still essentially a silly old sausage.

Rosymosie said...

Welcome to my blog, Colin. Great to be in touch again. And I'm glad you are still the same silly old sausage.

I wonder what a "heritage interpreter" does?? Interesting.
